Another Anniversary of the opening of the "Great Park" on what used to be MCAS El Toro.

Mark Your Calendars for July 10th. El Toro anniversary celebration @KNZJ , Flyovers, static displays of aircraft and equipment. begins at 3:00 p.m. runs until 10:30 p.m. will post more details next week when word becomes official..remember: you heard it here first.

can they even have things fly into El Toro anymore?
I am not sure. Can anyone answer this? Helos probably for sure. They use the runways alot for auto mags shoots.

planes (warbirds) will be able to land and take off for the event. the Great Parks museum aircraft (SNJ, N3N) were flown in John Collver will be participating in this event also :)

The 10th of July this year we will be hosting an anniversary celebration for KNZJ El Toro. There will be 30+ Static display aircraft,
4 flying events and a handful of military vehicles.
Event starts @ 3:00 p.m and continues until 10:30 p.m.
Tell everyone you know.

Hey guys... contracts are done and he's a taste of what's to be expected.
A demonstration of a dogfight between a Zero and an F6f will open the show. John collver will be flying his SNJ. Silver Wings will be wing walking. ZRon lane's stewart Tank will be in attendance a parachutist demonstration will take place the marines will be there with helos......and many more static warbirds will be on the ramp....please tell all your friends admission is free, parking is about 10 bucks. show starts at 3p.m.
Any tips on shooting arrivals for that show?
about 10 a.m. on the north/south runways. Sunday morning would be better to catch the aircraft on departure.

You'd have to talk to Utopia. the admission is free and the hot pit is closed to all non flight crews e-mail me @ironfly28@yahoo and I'll give you my number maybe I can get you on the flight line an hour or so early to shoot the aircraft without any public around.
I will be going to this event.

i hope to be there, been a log time since shooting El Toro, would like to meet up with any fence shooters if possible :D

This is tommorrow!!!! GOT OUR EARLY ARRIVALS IN TODAY Should be a blast...Also For those of you in Torrance/San Pedro area The Boys from CAF @ Camarillo will be flying the Zero and Hellcat over Fort Macarthur days in a mock air to ground battle at about 1 p.m. on their way to the airshow

It was overcast so we heard them fly over but no dog fight. :-\

Thanks to all of you who came to the event. we had a HUGE turn out. Some of our Static display aircraft weren't able to make it in due to weather at their home stations. All of our performers came in and made it a real blast. You guys got some great photos.. I'll post some of mine when I get them loaded.!!
It was a great show, had a great time.
Great meeting up with Britt & Kevin :) , and the wife actually went to this one and had fun. Although she was the only one of us that got to ride the balloon :'(
