SpaceShip Two was unveiled tonight out at Mojave. Here are a couple of my shots from 'out in the bush'.
I'd swear I saw snowflakes driving back home tonight.........COLD!!!!
Nicely done, Brian! Read about it this morning on Yahoo News. I knew Sir Richard Branson had something else up his sleeve. ;D
Yeah, it was cold. I took the first shot prone in some mud to get the angle I wanted. :D
I got there about sunset and shot some images of the structures they had put up, but it just got so cold and windy I had to get back in the truck and shoot with the camera braced on the window. Shot about 250 images, 45 came out, lol. Fortunately I managed to get one just after they turned the spotlight off as WK2 was being towed back, and had that great purplish tint to it.
The Ice Bar was pretty cool... pun intened. ;)
<laughing> I hear they served vodka in hollowed-out ice cube glasses. Doesn't get much cooler than that!
Some on hand...
Yup, Jim, it was indeed COLD! I hung around awhile and it started snowing as I did my walk around shots. I'll post my stuff this evening, as I haven't downsized any of it yet. Meanwhile, I fed two clients, and you can see stuff here:

Best part of the evening, Burt's wife coming up and giving me a hug!
Great shots guys and really swank event. I just saw the Governator on Saturday at the carshow as well. Got a quick shot that is so so.
I heard from a source, this morning, that before the party was concluded, the winds brought down a portion of the compound where the event was held. Wouldn't surprise me as strong as they were but unfortunate. :o
Nice shgots Alan!
I'm a bit behind the curve today as my daughter just got married back in San Antonio. ;D
Great shots guys. Looked like a great event ;)

That's great! So she finally did it, eh? I remember you telling me about him...
Yup, there was a six-month rule having to do with weddings and the ability to PCS to the spouse's base. As Katrina's current assignment might end as early as June if she deploys to Irqaq then, this was a logical choice when it came to timing. First one to congratualte her via phone was Dick Rutan (he's known her since she was three. Formal ceremony to be held "sometime in the future". :D
Hey, Jim, did you see this vid? Where we were!!

WOW!!! :o
I can believe it! Safest spot would have been in one of the porta-johns with the mahogany trim. ;)
Seriously, though, it was a blessing that it didn't whip up any worse than it did that night before we left. I don't think I'll ever be as cold as I was when I got up from laying in the mud for that shot and the wind went right through my wet clothing! :o
Did you notice that the ice sculpture was still in good shape the next day in the video?
Only the Ice Sculpture survived.
Yeah, I got a laugh out of Buzz making it through all that! Shows how cold it was that he hadn't melted. Would like to have seen what was left of the ice bar!
Wow :o Good thing no one got killed
