Title: Victorville trip questions
Post by: snapperbaz on December 06, 2009, 08:26:40 AM
Hi guys,

I won't have much time to fit it in but I'm going to try and get a day to myself to take a trip up to Victorville with the rental car from Torrance when I'm there in a few weeks time. Firstly, does anyone have any info on photography there?
Is it possible to gain access airside there at all? And if not whats it like shooting from outside?

I have just seen some distant shots taken from outside and from on top of a hill which looks as though it could be of use? Also, if anyone wants to join me then let me know!

Any help on the above would be much appreciated,

Cheers,

Baz

Why would one want to drive out the Victorville from the South Bay?

Within the same 80 mile radius there are other things to do.

A bit out the way but its an interesting airport. Now is a good time  to go! (its better than being out there in the summer time) I've never shot there myself but I do know a couple of people that shoot there quite often .

There's loads of stored airliners there I want to see and photograph before they are all broken up-and if I can get airside then that would make my day...just like it would to get amongst the stored stuff at Mojave. Guess if you live nearby (ish) it doesn't float yer' boat but for someone who has never done an airliner storage place before its a goldmine of opportunities. If I can't get airside then so be it-I just want to see em' before its too late! :P
