Much better than we got at Heroes airshow.. <rob>
Yeah, but these guys warmed up forever as my sister-in-law and wife were waiting. I was standing on a dock about 50ft out to get more of a side shot.

HH-60J Jayhawk departing USCGAS San Diego, CA.
A couple from the other day. This guy was hovering over the tarmac for at least 15 minutes before i left. Wonder if it was training?
Great shots Chris! 8)
Did you walk down on the dock at all?

No i had the little ones with me on the other side of Harbor watching planes land. Trust me after he was hovering for 5-10 minutes i really wish i could have just run across the street (Not an easy task by the way) to get some shots that weren't of his rear end. I also noticed as i was leaving that there would have been a killer shot just to the west (perfect lighting) through some palm trees. Dang those kids are cramping me style... :D
from the spotter's lot across Harbor:

Taken from the deck of the American Pride. Being ships photographer is double great when in San Diego.
