Title: Photographers; beware the Moron Code of Ethics
Post by: kick Z tail out on July 17, 2009, 09:54:39 PM
Apparently there is some code in the moron code of ethics which suggests that; while driving, it is your duty to lay on the horn like a retard whenever you see a photographer off the side of the road trying to take a shot. I'm assuming something like this must be in print, because there appears to be a good number of geniuses out there that follow this code.

Yeah I hear ya. I don't know what that's all about, but I've lost count of how many times I've dealt with this. Even times when I am not taking photos, it happens. During the week leading up to July 4th, I took a temporary job as a night watchman for a fireworks booth, and got  heckled by honkers several times EVERY night.........strange.

Oh yes... we hear crap like that all the time. Those of us on patrol, not as much... but our fixed location guys hear it left and right.  ::)

You haven't had to experience that? That's good but I'm shocked, I've heard a bunch of it...

Ah yes, I too, have experienced this.  I was shooting from the bridge up on Westchester Pkwy and Lincoln Blvd and I had a few random people blatantly honk at me.  I also had an airport police squad car pass me with a short honk.  I'm not sure if it was a "cautionary" honk warning me to vacate the area, or it if was just a friendly "Oh hey, there's a photographer" honk.  I imagine it was the latter since I never saw him again.  I was standing in the grassy area between between the end of the fence and the bridge, so technically, it may be airport property.
I agree with kick Z, it must be some, whether written or unwritten, code that a lot people out seem to be catching wind of.

Yep, I chalk it up to people just being jerks. If I were really close to the traffic lane, I would assume they were pissed about that, but in every case I've been WELL off the side of the road, 15 to 20 feet or more.

People just get a kick out of trying to ruin your shot. Our society has dipped to such a level that you've got people that just can't stand minding their own business.

Yep, seems like all the morons out there have more 'FAIL' embedded in their gene pools than anything else.  But hey, it is what it is.  <moron>
