Howdy folks,

First off, let me say that it is an honor to be a part of this tightly knit community and site.  Special thanks goes to Midnight Mover for accompanying me to LAX to capture some sweet shots as well as introducing me to some great fellow spotters and photographers (Chilibean, Warbird Keith, gfydad).  By the way Chilibean, thanks for letting me try out your 40D and that F2.8 lens.  Sweet setup  :)
It was a pleasure meeting you gentlemen and I definitely look forward to meeting up with you all again.
The main computer is down for the time being, as OCZ is sending me a replacement power supply out of Carlsbad...shouldn't be too long, but once I get 'er up and running, I'll post some photos.

Thanks again guys, look forward to some great times!
Cheers!

Cool! Welcome Dewey!   ;)

Sounds like you guys had a blast.

Will you be joining us at the Heroes Air Show?

Greetings Fernando!

Unfortunately, due to such a short notice and scheduling conflicts with work, I will not be joining you guys at the Heroes Air Show.  I had originally discussed it with Midnight Mover, however, I am just not able to make it.  But you can surely count me in for any future air shows  ;D  You guys need to show me how this stuff is done...I hear commercial aviation is child's play compared to military!

Hey, thanks Fernando  :)  I'm glad to be a part of the crew.
I've always liked fighter jets and big ol' cargo carriers, but I've never been able to photograph them.  Granted, I've just gotten into photography, and I'm already hooked.  You guys have to keep me posted on the big air shows like Miramar and Edwards.  I know they have those every fall, if I recall correctly.

Next step for Midnight Mover and I is to do this professionally...not just casual sales to amortize the cost of the equipment, but to actually have a justification to upgrade to something better.  I've already spent more than initially wanted, however, at the end of the day, the cost is worth every penny when I see the final product of what I have been able to produce  <thumbup>

It would be interesting to get an APSC booth at a few shows and set up our photos to sell.

Helllo rander and Josh!!   A booth at an airshow?!  I'm liking that idea.  I can envision us members wearing the badges and shooting away <apsops>
Pretty awesome stuff.
By the way Josh, do you have any other items in the store such as hats or shirts?  I'm eyeballing that patch that I can iron onto my backpack, but I was just curious if you guys made anything else.  I'm on a purchasing binge for accessories for the camera ( just bought a battery grip, against Midnight Mover's suggestion  :P )
Thanks again, glad you guys are pitching in your thoughts and comments.

Not yet, it's expensive and I can't afford to foot the bill myself. Been trying to get sponsors, but it's been slow going with the economy the way it is. That's why there's only one patch left.  :-\

Yeah booths are very expensive especially if its done at a major airshow put on by the Airshow Network.  I have heard from friend of mine that was selling his book "CHINO" that they charge like $1500 plus a percentage of what you make. That was not going to work at all.  I would think, but not sure that the smaller shows would be more feasible, like Cable, or Riverside. Not sure. And remember that APSOCAL also excepts donations ( http://www.apsocal.com/index.php?action=treasury ) as well to help with site costs.
