Yes, this too :D
<apsocals> Yes HAPPY FORTH to everyone. Going to be on Cabrillo south of Sepulveda watching the Wilson Park fireworks in Torrance. Don't want to deal with crowds with my dad. (Josh we need a little guy with US flag)
The 4th of July parade at Coronado was a fantastic event, people were out on Orange Boulevard at 5:30 am for a parade that did not start until 10:00am. I'd say for a city like Coronado where the regular population is about 26,000, there must have been 70,000 seated or standing along Orange Boulevard.
I was with the group from the Midway Museum, and i was riding ing the Midway Museum van so I did not get as many pics of the units or groups that were in the parade as I would have liked to have. Some pics of the F-4U.
In the 4th pic down is Captain Mo Pelle, USN Retired, a former CO of USS Constellation CV-64, now serving in a voluntary capacity as The USS Midway Museum Director of Aircraft Restoration.
5TH pic down. 2009 is the 5th time in the past 7 years that The Midway Museum has won a City Of Coronado 4Th of July Parade award. At least once The Midway Museum has been the Grand Prize Award winner.
The Last pic is of Captain Yancey B. Lindsey who on July 2nd in a change of command ceremony in VRC-30's hanger, assumed command of Naval Base Coronado also known as North Island Naval Air Station. Captain Lindsey is a former E-2C Hawkeye pilot.
Very nice ;)
