PHANCON 2016
Hosted by Holloman Air Force Base
Alamogordo, New Mexico USA
September 12-15, 2016
Registration is now Closed

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER

Lt. Col. Ronald "Elvis" King
Commander, Detachment 1, 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron

PhanCon is an annual international gathering of folks who flew, maintained, supported, photographed, tracked, modeled, or just plain enjoyed the sound of freedom promoted by this premier fighter of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Now celebrating over 50 years in action, the F-4 is still flying today in defense of many nations around the world, and while no longer on the front line in the US, she still serves an important role as an Aerial Target Drone.  This, however will be "The Phinal Phlyout".

This year we are returning to one of our favorite spots, Holloman Air Force Base.  Our conference will be located at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites.  We plan to spend 2 full days at the base and one half day on Thursday.

To cover transportation, meals, and facility rentals the conference fee this year will be $250. Current members receive a special rate of $200. Their membership must be current through September 2016. Not sure if you are current? Then please contact our administrator to find out your status. Or if you have an online member account, just log-in (www.f4phantom.com) and check your membership status there.

Of course you are welcome to become a member and save $30. Go to our website to sign up for a membership... www.f4phantom.com. This is a simple two step process, first creating an account on the website and then via that account joining the Society.

Hotel

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites (Sold Out) is our hotel and any overflow lodging will be at the nearby Hampton Inn. (4 Rooms Available) This is the same hotel we've used before. They will give you the special rate two days before and after PhanCon should you wish to stay in the area or arrive early.

The Holiday Inn telephone number is 575-434-9773 and the Hampton Inn is still as well available with no problems using the online instructions.

Fairfield Inn (575) 437-4000 is within walking distance and still has availability as of 8/5.

Note, by law, all rooms are non-smoking.  In addition, smoking is not allowed within twenty feet of any entrances.

PhanCon Registration (please read carefully beforehand)

Because you will be visiting restricted areas you will be asked for personal information during the registration process. This is a secure website and any information collected will be carefully protected.

US Citizens will be asked for their SSN's and Driver License information. Non-US citizens will need to enter their Passport info and drivers license data. US Military active duty and retired are exempt as long as they carry their IDs. This information will be provided to the USAF authorities in advance of our visit. It will be kept private and not shared otherwise.

There is a "Comments" box which may be published here on this site. Attendees at past PhanCons have asked that we share with each other our connection to the F-4. Please use this box to enter what you did, and where/with whom, and when you did it.

Your name, state/province and country along with your comment may be shown on a Attendee List on this website. There is an option right after that comment box for you to decline that info being shown. We cannot retroactively change it should you change your mind.

If you click on either of the "register now" buttons on this page you will be given the opportunity to create a personal account with EZregister. Doing so will let you later check the status of your registration, and we think that is a good idea. But, you do not need to do that. You may skip that step and go straight to the registration page. EZregister does not use the personal account for any purposes.

This year you may register more than one individual for the full event. You will need to know their personal information as indicated above, and be willing to vouch that they understand the waiver you will agree to. For society members if they are immediate family members they get the same "member" rate.  When you finish your personal registration look for a link to add additional registrations.

You may also pay for any guests you are only bringing to the banquet. They do not need to be registered. You will receive tickets for those guests. Or you may use this link to later separately pay for their tickets at any time.

General public registration is $250 for this event.

Current members receive a special rate of $200. Membership must be valid through the end of September. This rate is also valid for immediate family members.

If you are not a member or need to renew membership you can get the current member rate by joining now. Here you will also find Q&A about membership.

Do make sure you carefully read the waiver at the end of the registration.

Payment may be made via Credit Card or a PayPal account via a PayPal secure payment until Aug 19th.

You may also elect to pay by check or money order if you register by  Aug 11th. You will be emailed an invoice and the check must be received by Aug 18th or the registration may be cancelled.

If you have any problems registering or paying at the top and bottom margins of this page, please contact Registrations.

Recap of those Deadlines:

Aug 11th Payment by check option ends. PayPal or Credit Card only after that date.

Aug 12th Last day to cancel.  Will get refund minus a $20 administration fee.  Emergency cancellations after that day will be handled on a case by case basis.

Aug 18th Check must be received or registration may be cancelled

Aug 19th Last day to register. Registrations close at 1 PM Mountain Standard time.

Sept 2nd Last day for Hotel Reservations

We are required to provide base security a list of all attendees with the required information by Aug 22nd. Hence registrations will close at 1 PM that date.  Given how the world situation changes from day to day and security levels rise and fall we hope they won't move up the deadline for overseas folks.
Very Important

Currently the base is requiring two forms of government issued photo ID for access. We don't expect that to change... so...

You must remember to bring two forms of Govt issued photo ID.

If you are US Military or US Military Retired please include that ID along with Driver's License.

Foreign nationals, please include your Passport and Driver's License.

Vendors

If you wish to reserve a space or obtain more information please contact our Vendor Coordinator, Paul Kuzinski via this email address: storemanager@f4phantom.com. Or you may call him at (785) 856-2726.

Airports/Rental Cars

Closest airport is El Paso, TX.  Alamo Shuttle runs 4 daily trips from El Paso to Alamogordo.  Transportation to/from El Paso is available through Alamo Shuttle.  Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation prior to your arrival and departure as they will not run an empty vehicle.

The guest list below shows who has fully registered by name, state/province, country, and any comments they wished to share.  If you have registered and nothing shows here it could be you did not complete payment, or you declined to have it shown, or you just did not enter any info in the last item, "Comments".   Enjoy reading the comments!

This will be the last Phancon with LIVE ACTIVE USAF Phantoms.  That said this will not be the last time to see them.  They are planing on going to Reno and Nellis airshows as well as a final good-bye.  http://ezregister.com/events/16692/
