They didn't even bother to check my 24-105, so I think it was only for lenses that 'looked' long... I'm sure my 100-400 wouldn't have made it. But the way they were shuttling people through the tour of the USS America, you barely had time to shoot things on the ship much less anything off the ship. So anything over the 24-105 would have been useless. They did have the UH-1Z Venom, AH-1Z Viper, MH-60 Seahawk, and MV-22 Osprey on the deck. Lots of people around them though, had to wait to be the last person in my tour group plus find creative angles to get it somewhat devoid of people.
