Saturday April 19th the Mojave Air and Space Port held its annual experimental fly in. This event included a week of record setting attempts prior to the actual fly in and awards ceremony.  I was invited out to attend a few of the special record attempts including a long range attempt in the refurbished Cat Bird, which was loaded with 195 gallons of fuel, and took flight for nearly 15 hours. The other attempts I covered were various records for the custom built air racer Phantom.
