SPECIAL ACTIVITY ALERT:  San Diego Fleet Week Aircraft Flyby Events
San Diego Bay, San Diego, Calif. – At the request of the San Diego Fleet Week Foundation, the United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, and the United States Coast Guard Air Force will conduct multiple aircraft flyby within the San Diego Bay on Saturday, September 10, 2016.  Multiple fixed wing (F-35B, AV-8B, F/A-18, KC-130, E-2C) and rotary wing (SH-60) aircraft operating from Naval Air Station North Island will participate in the event.  Aircraft will enter the bay south of the Coronado Cays and fly over the center of the bay until exiting in the vicinity of Point Loma.  Jet aircraft will operate at an altitude of 1000 feet above ground level and turboprop aircraft will operate at an altitude of 500 feet above ground level.  Helicopter operations will vary from the surface to 300 feet above ground level during "Cast and Recovery" and "Search and Rescue" demonstrations.  The aircraft are anticipated to overfly San Diego Bay form approximately 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Local residents within the Cities of Coronado, Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, and San Diego can anticipate see multiple military aircraft at low altitudes during that time period.
The Navy recognizes the importance of being good neighbors with the local communities and makes every effort to abate noise when possible.
