They weren't kidding, this baby BARELY fits in the hangar.  Even with a 12-24 I had to cram myself in a corner of the hangar just to get the whole bird in the frame.  Yes, it was raining, but it was WAY worth it to see this bird.  This Phantom is the spiritual successor to Darryl Greenamyer's F-104 Red Baron.

Hoping weather changes by Saturday.

Sure about that?  I'll take 90 and sunny vs rain any day.  I'll be there no matter what, but really want no rain Saturday.

Hi guys-hope you can come out and see the Phantom! If the weather is nice and we have the volunteers available we might be able to pull it out of the hangar-though it is not as easy getting it back in..we litterally have only inches at the tail before hitting the wall to get it back in! anyway-still it is coming along great! Even if in the hangar we can panel it up and make it look good..she is after all over 50 yrs old! Call me if you have questions,, the number listed above is mine not Pats.

Got this from F-4 Phantom II Society Member:
QuoteCalling all F-4 Phantom II Society members...

On Saturday, December 18, 2010 the F-4A Phantom II that is under restoration at the French Valley Airport in Murrieta, CA will be available for photos and more.

Directions: Take the I-15 south to Murrieta -
Go east on Murrieta Hot Springs Road
Go north on Winchester Road RT 79
The airport is about 3 miles on the right

The POC is Pat Rogers, head of the Wings and Rotors Museum at the airport...
His number is: 951-662-5653.

The event is the Grizzly Fly In where CA ANG types gather to have a good time... Many of which were F-4 seat warmers...

The schedule as I now know it:

1030    No host breakfast starts at the cafe
1200    Tour the museum and the unveiling of the F-4A

I was asked to pass the word to F-4 Phantom II Society members in our area... Southern California - Arizona, etc.

Please tell your friends about this gathering... It could be a mini Phantom Society det....
