Thanks guys. Yeah Damon, I was thinking the same thing, even as I took the picture. Yet I always like doing high contrast stuff like this, particularly with the bright flame against the dark background. Really makes the flames and flying embers pop and look that much more intense.

You should light a daytime fire as a base photos for next one.  You have a place to start fire.....
