No, I asked a SMPD that was doing security at the Barker Hanger for the Barney's of New York sale and he said there is a view area at the admin building behind the baseball diamond.  That's where I shot.

I was shooting an event at the (Santa Monica) Barker Hangar this past weekend and had some down time so I decided to shoot some departing aircraft from the parking lot. I was approached by security and was told I couldn't shoot towards the airport. I didn't want to argue since I was on a job but has anyone run into the same problem or know the rules about shooting there?
