I would have walked away... It seems D-M is very restrictive, more so than any other base I've been on for an air show.
I applied for a media credential for the show and at the last minute was told that if I wished to take the credential, I would have to be escorted everywhere I went outside of the designated media shooting area. This kind of restriction is unheard of at a military air show. Since when do you let the general public have full access to the show area and require the media to have an escort in the same area? This, coupled with the bag hassles make me doubt I will ever consider attending a show at D-M again.

That happend to me one year at Miramar. It sucks big time. You just never know what you'll have to do to get into an air show. Might be time to get a photog vest for myself. That sounds like a great idea if you're desperate. Thanks for the heads up

I looked for Steve Ritchie's signature on the spitter plate of the Phantom (he signed it during a visit to AMARC years ago and was still visible as of the 2007 DM show), however it is now completely faded away.

Anyways here's some of my initial shots.........here's some from the Fri practice show. The Skyraider's victory roll was positioned perfectly over our group and he was inverted directly over us.
