Should work. Definitely worth taking a ride around the airport and checking out everything that's parked out there. I wish the Nordic Leisure DC-9 was in a better spot to get a shot of.

I'll check that area out when I can get down there as well. My car is tall. It's a 1999 Ford Explorer. I can just climb on top of that. Is the fence too tall for that to work?

The parking lot on the side of the SCLA office. Go into the airport on Phantom West, and make a left on Cargo lane until you get to the fence. The people at the office seemed pretty nice, I would say hello and let them know what you're doing. You're either going to need a ladder to clear the fence, or wait for a vehicle to go through the gate and shoot while it's open. We tried, even with my press credentials, couldn't get onto the tarmac.

Those sound like good spots. I'll check those out when I go there next. If I get chased, I'll find another spot. Where were those photos shot from?

Anyone know if the 787 in Victorville will be flying tomorrow 3/10? I may be able to get out there for that.

At the Southwest corner of the airport, there is a huge new Dr. Pepper/Snapple facility, and around it, they've graded the pads and roads for a huge business park. Great spot to catch anything leaving R17. Not sure if you're going to get chased out of there, but there is one pad that's built very high up and you can clear the fence without a ladder.

That's awesome. I'm sure Jim, Brian and Michael will be up there shooting the heck out of it, since it's their regular neck of the woods.

Great catch, Ken!
