Thanks guys. Biggest crowd I've ever seen at the museum, since their grand opening in '96.

P-38 Lightning Exhibition

Jan. 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM

See the plane that changed aviation history! The P-38 was a revolutionary aircraft. It was a fighter, bomber, a reconnaissance plane, and an escort. It had twin V-12 engines and tricycle landing gear. It was designed and built in record time by the legendary Clarence "Kelly" Johnson of Lockheed Aircraft. It flew at amazing speed and altitude for its time. The sight of a P-38 Lightning so terrified the enemy, that the Luftwaffe dubbed it the "fork-tailed devil.

Bob Cardin will present, and Jack Croul's P-38L will be flown by Jeff Harris.
See www.AlliedFighters.com for more information about the plane.

Heard from the museum and the P-38 event IS definitely still on. They have limited space on the outdoor sign, which is why it wasn't posted.

The P-38L from Chino, flown by Jeff Harris, is scheduled to do a flight demo at the Palm Springs Air Museum on Sat, January 30th, as part of a program about 'Glacier Girl' during the evening of Fri the 29th. Bob Cardin is scheduled to be there.  Tickets and reservations req'd for that part of it. The museum Sat flight demos are set for 1pm and usually includes three passes.

I was just in Palm Springs on Tues/Wed, and saw that this program is NOT currently listed on their electronic billboard. Might be nothing, but I suggest you call to be sure this is still scheduled before attending. I've emailed the museum about this, and will pass along their response as soon as I get one.
