Flying into JFK as a kid, we were actually hit by lightning. Our pilot came on the intercom, said we were going to dive through the clouds to get through the weather as fast as possible, and I thought for a moment, it was all over.

Cool shot there, Ken!

A major thunderstorm over Mexico City in a Aeromexico 757-200 back in 1999, lighting on both sides and the airplane shaking abruptly like no other. Luckily I had a window seat to see that the wing was still there but bending a lot lol, turbulence lasted for about almost 20-30 min'..

Just thought I'd shared this experience of mine.    <aliner>

That's the best kind of ride there is. I have fond memories of the Northwest 757-200 I got to ride into Memphis in a severe thunderstorm. You haven't seen squat until you've flown through a Tennessee thunderstorm.  ;D

Waiting for my flight back to L.A., through the terminal window, and a bit nervous I was soon to be flying INTO the big dark cloud. (Wild ride home lemme tell ya)
