Yeah I did and I think next time I need to take the day off from the gym the day before and drink more water day before.  I could feel my legs and the lactic acid...

Rain is still heavy  >:(  I think we are going to collect our shirts and call it a donation, well the proceeds were.  Too bad weather was not good.  I will see what aircraft are down there.  Get some rain shots.

Maybe!  ;)  Its pretty open for this.  Not sure how many helos will be there besides the Los Al ones.  I am wanting to do the 5k which is on some of the runways and taxi ways.  10k is more of them.  Anyone else going to RUN it?

The 29th Annual Los Alamitos Race on the Base will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010. The City of Los Alamitos, the California National Guard and the Cancer Support Foundation are happy to invite you to participate in the community event. Approximately 6,000 participants, spectators and volunteers attended the last event. The race is held on the runways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course.

All proceeds will benefit the USA Water Polo National Training Center at the Joint Forces Training Base. The 5K Walk is co-hosted by the Cancer Support Foundation and a portion of the proceeds, generated from the 5K Walk and through race registration, is donated to the organization.

USAT License

The Race on the Base Reverse Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. All triathletes MUST have either a USAT annual license or a 1-day license. Purchase annual licenses ($39) at www.usatriathlon.org; purchase a 1-day license ($10) with registration or on race day. Triathletes will be required to show their annual license with picture ID, or proof of 1-day license purchase, and sign the USAT waiver on race day.

Packet Pick-Up

Pre-registration packets will be available on Friday, February 26 from 3:00-7:00pm at the Joint Forces Training Base. Packets can also be picked up on the day of the race in front of Hangar #2.

Parking Directions

NO I.D. = NO ENTRY

Parking is available for all participants and spectators on the Joint Forces Training Base. Please arrive at least 1-hour prior to your race in order to enter the Base, park and register. In order to enter the Base, all adults must have a Driver's License, Identification Card or Passport IN THEIR HAND to show military personnel. PLEASE HAVE YOUR I.D. INSIDE YOUR CAR AND READY TO PRESENT TO MILITARY PERSONNEL. Parking lots A, B and C will be clearly labeled to make it easy for you to return to your vehicle at the end of the event. No pets allowed.

The Reverse Triathlon has a completion time limit of 2 hours and 15 minutes.  A Challenged Athletes Division has been added to the Triathlon. Participants will begin with the same start time and should be able to complete the race within the 2 hour 15 minute timeframe. Triathlon participants should bring their own swim cap. Minimum age limit for the Reverse Triathlon is 12 years old.

Awards Presentation for top overall finishers of each race will follow each event. Age division awards will be available at the Awards Pick Up Tent next to the stage.

Course

The course is located on the Joint Forces Training Base runways. Helicopters, planes and military vehicles will line portions of the course. Separate 100% flat courses. Run next to strawberry fields and 3 golf courses. The new Reverse Triathlon includes a 5K Run, 12 Mile Bike Ride, and 200 Meter Pool Swim at the USA Water Polo National Training Center on the Joint Forces Training Base.
