Ill be picking up my 30D from canon next week, they found the 2 specks under the low pass filter and repaired it I hope....

It's fixed <rocker> Let the air shows begin 8) Looks like I got a new image sensor, a big "thank you" to the Canon service center in Irvine. That digital dust was driving me nuts ::)

Alright all, Sat. March 1st will mark the start of my absence for 3-4 months, and I probably wont be on much the next day either. So you all take good care of yourselves and the group. Damon "phantomphan" will be your new master until my return. <whip> :P

Blue skies, with spotted white fluffy clouds to you all, and happy shooting.

Take care, bro.

A little update guys... I just finally got a job at a new hotel around the LAX area. I'm security at the hotel so I have access to the roof top and oh man let me tell you guys... I have the whole view of Los Angeles, LAX, Pacific Ocean, and the Santa Monica area. I talked to the director of the security Dept. about taking pic's up on the roof top and he said that we will set up a time for that. So I will be adding some photos pretty soon. So thats one of the reasons I was going to let you guys know that I will be on and off, real busy hotel so I wont be able to make to the Sunday meetings. I also mention to him that I was a member of a photography group and he very much liked it! He likes our pic's so he might grant access to the APSC group to the roof top but not promissed yet lol.
Very cool, count me in, if they let us that is ;D

Same here, Friday I turned in my 30D for very stubborn digital dust. Originally when I bought the 30D it had 2 un-removable specks on the sensor. I tried sensor swabs and everything. Also cannot see the two specks with the sensor loupe. I hope the facility in Irvine can/will fix it. I will keep the group updated. Also, the Canon service center in Irvine told me that sensor cleaning is always free. I guess they want to keep people like me from cleaning the sensor my self. Anyway free is good ;)

Not to get too much off topic but yeah always free and if they are not busy about an hour or so.  Use to take my 20D every once in a while.

I hear ya. I've been away for awhile and I'm trying to get back into the swing to things. I've got my main body and lenses at Canon getting ready for this year's shows.
