Thank You. I proudly spent 21 years in The U.S. Navy. I also spent my Veterans Day onboard The Midway Museum talking with other Veterans and touring a navy ship. I also took over 200 pics that I'll put up in the Midway Museum thread.

- November 12, 2009, 01:07:49 AMThe fact of the matter is that this type of thing happens more than you like to think about. At one time there were 3 guys like Burton claiming to be Navy Seals, with ribbons and medals they never earned. Only problem, none of them ever served. One got arrested, the others I never heard about. All 3 got their pictures shown on local television.

- November 11, 2009, 12:14:50 PMThis guy was going for broke! Navy Cross, Purple Hart, and the Bronze star. You know I'm sure he gets hundreds of people going up to him and thanking him for all he has done. 
I say make him do volunteer work at a military base (although I'm sure you can't just volunteer there) and see what real Purple Hart recipients have to go through in order to earn that medal.
