Lovely shots...gonna make an effort to shoot some fire fighting stuff in action once I'm there in S'Cal...havn't seen anything other than a couple of CL214's and Skycranes that were resting at Van Nuys last year when I passed thru last year.

Very nice shots.


I was hanging out at the base again today. They were dispatched on a fire about 45 minutes ago on the 5 freeway north of the Grapevine. They called for 7 aircraft for initial attack, which is non standard. Called for Tanker 72, 73, and Skycrane 781 from Hemet, 2 tankers from SBD, and 2 from Fox. They cancelled the Skycrane before it left the ground, and air aborted all aircraft about 15 minutes after the tankers had left.

Yeah, those are great, I'm loving the water spray from the rotors.  They give a good sense of action and motive.  Well done again, Skip!  <thumbup>
