Personally, my favorite place for fireworks is the little town of Cambria...they launch the fireworks out over the water, and the watching from Moonstone Beach is really beautiful. This selection was from when I was there in 2005 on my honeymoon.
Nice... I was there on my honeymoon too. We also stayed in Pacific Grove and Santa Barbara.

Thanks Jim!

AV Press stated today that there indeed was a technical glitch in the AV Fair's fireworks show. A circuit shut down and they just couldn't get it fixed within a reasonable amt of time. Article also seemed to imply they're going to try and get a freebie show out of the fireworks company sometime in the future.........

Ouch :o bad for the pyros :(

Great shots, Jim! I was out in the south-southeast corner of the parking lot shooting, and initially assumed when the action stopped, that maybe they just had some duds, but the next morning I was told there was a fire in the fields, which caused the shutdown of the show.

Here is a shot at the local ballpark (note NASA F-18 to bottom left).

Tonight, the big show at the A.V. Fairgrounds was a dissapointment to all as it started out really great, but the stopped after only 10 minutes.  :-[

I got these that are different than I usually shoot and, out of curiosity, did the one in B&W also. I like how it turned out.  :D
