Spitfire Mk.Vb BL628  seen shortly after reassembling @ French Valley Airport painted in its original markings!

BL628 is a combat vet. Battle of Britain & credit with 1 shootdown of an FW-190 and a possible second , built originally as a SeaFire, and flown by 4FG USAAF Commander Don Blaksee when part of the Famous Eagle Sqdn ,during the Battle of Britain !

Provenance Fighters purchased the airframe in Australia ,(Cash+ P-51D trade) and had it shipped to
Avspecs ltd. http://www.warbirdrestoration.co.nz/. for restoration ,once finished and test flown 628 was disassembled and shipped to the Usa where we reassembled it and waited for the FAA to come out and inspect and certify giving the okay to test fly, in which Planes of fame Pres. and Very well known warbird Steve Hinton test flew it and flew the required # of hrs before Delivery to the new owner Rod Lewis joining his   stable of Warbirds in Texass!

here is video I shot with my then crappy 3.5mp point n shoot! please excuse the the quality

Steve Hinton in the Spit, Ed Shipley "Airshowbuzz.com" flying Steve's Mustang Wee Willy2 with Capt. Kevin Robins "Thunderbird 1 boss 2005-2007?" in the back seat , off on a photo mission for Airclassics magazine  March 2008
