Three World War II-era aircraft flew into Hawthorne Municipal Airport on Monday for a three-day visit.

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine" WWII heavy bomber, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator "Witchcraft" WWII heavy bomber, and the P-51 Mustang will be on display through Wednesday.

Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at 12101 Crenshaw Blvd. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.

This display is part of the nationwide "Wings of Freedom Tour" organized by the nonprofit Collings Foundation to teach people about history.
