SIOUX CITY -- The 185th Air Refueling Wing will host a free air show Aug. 1-2 with an agricultural theme.

The 2009 Air & Ag Expo will feature performances by the U.S. Air Force's F-16 "Viper'' and a P-51 Mustang, an authentic World War II aircraft, said 185th commander Col. Brian Miller.

Other featured performers include an A-10 Thunderbolt, an AV-8B Harrier, an AH-64 Apache attack helicopter and the 185th's own KC-135 Stratotankers.

The show also will feature static displays of various historic aircraft, as well as the latest in farm machinery. Miller, who announced the show during a presentation at the Downtown Rotary Club's meeting Monday, said the base has invited area implement dealers to display their equipment.

Though the Air National Guard base has hosted air shows in past years, this will be the first that also pays tribute to the contributions of agriculture to the tri-state region, Miller said. The commander noted that a number of 185th members are also farmers.

I'll be in the Area, I might as well check this out. The Sioux Falls Air show is just a week earlier.
