Any one watching the DC10 tanker making it?s drops on the Malibu Fire today on the news? Channel 11 had some good coverage.

Fire fighting DC-10 at Miramar 2006, this is my favorite passenger/tanker aircraft type. Amazing to see something so large doing fire drops.

That would make a kick ass ride wouldn't it!? Would be interesting to call them up and see if they could slip you into a jump seat somewhere for promo shots.

Channel 7 had it in HD.  It was awesome.

For my Master's Degree, I am writing a DC-10 Engineering Case Study.
We were lucky to have 10 Tanker at Miramar a few years ago.

They are heading toward modifying a 2nd airframe.
