Technically speaking, neither.  I live in Coronado, 3 blocks from the ocean.  ...but I do drive across the bridge every day to get to work, and the camera is almost always in the car.  If I see a warship in the bay, and it's going in the right direction and I have a few minutes I'll usually stop.  I got very lucky with the LST, 30 minutes earlier or later and I wouldn't have seen it.
