A-26 Invader, the B-26 is the Marauder

The A-26 was redesignated B-26 upon the Marauders retirement from USAF service in 1947.

The OnMark B-26K conversions were renamed A-26A when they were sent off to Vietnam in the mid-60s.

I was very excited to have my house shaken by a C-130 flying into Hemet-Ryan  early yesterday morning at 6:30am. I hopped in the truck and blasted the 2 blocks down to the base in my fuzzy slippers with camera in hand. It has been 8 years since a C-130 has been here, after our own Hemet-Valley Flying Service C-130A tankers were grounded by the USFS and sent off to Arizona to rot.

Luckily International Air Response bought all of them to add to their existing C-130A fleet. Better yet, this C-130 that flew in, WAS one of our old Hercs (Tanker 83) and it was really neat to see her saved from the junk heap. She came home to visit, looking sharp in her new IAR colors. Everyone that was at the field gathered around the plane in astonishment, it was like a UFO had landed. 

They're going to be training the special ops forces of an allied middle eastern nation for the next several weeks. The training is in airborne insertion and airborne operations. Apparently, this foreign nation has hired instructors from Perris Valley Skydiving for the training so they will be working with them.

The weather was great to be shooting in! One of the neater skies I've seen in Hemet. Almost makes it look more like Florida than Riverside County. 

2nd shot is one of my old film scans of this exact plane returning from a fire in 1995.
