AMA aviation experts up close and personal!

On Friday and Saturday, January 8-9, the exhibit hall stage both days will offer the chance to hear from such notables as Robert "Hoot" Gibson, five-time NASA space shuttle commander and inductee to the Astronaut Hall of Fame; Jon Sharp, pilot, designer and builder of the record-setting Nemesis NXT full-scale racer; Capt. Tom Huff, commander of the Naval Test Wing Atlantic, Patuxant, Maryland; Matt Chapman, champion aerobat; and Dan Kreigh, senior structural engineer for Scaled Composites, an aerospace and specialty composites development company.

On Sunday, January 10, attendees will also get the opportunity to hear from design visionary Burt Rutan, founder of Scaled Composites, famous for leading the design and execution of a private citizen's trip into space and his round-the-world-without-refueling records.  

All of these accomplished aviators and designers started out as young modelers and continue to enjoy our hobby even today as AMA members.

With the electric market growing dramatically there will be many new exhibitors for AMA Expo 2010. In addition to these guest speakers and 200+ exhibitors, Expo goers will have the opportunity to see an expanded NASA presence and a one-third scale F-117, built by AMA member Rich Crupi from Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  NASA will be there with an expanded booth.  

Youth attending the Expo will have the opportunity to "make and take" model airplanes and rockets in an activity area sponsored by Gorilla Glue.  It's a whole-family opportunity, one that AMA members and anyone in love with the world of flight shouldn't miss.
