Where is a good place to spot at SAN?  I left the area long ago and recently moved back and it seems all the places have been fenced in where I used to park and spot.  I did go across the street just south of the USCG station and will post some of the pics tonight but I would like a closer spot.  Anyone know?  And Miramar/North Island for that matter.
you've never lived, until you've almost died. For those who fight for it, freedom has a special flavor the protected will never know.

Wow i never knew this thread existed.  Try this one, you will find it more up to date, and i put a little summery of where to go shooting from, including my favorite spot I call plane park.

As for Miramar...that is slim pickings.  North Island is best from Dog Beach, put just make sure you don't get spotted by the Navy, Police, or Life Guards.  We have had some bad stories about A-holes over there not even letting you photograph planes.
