Lieutenant Colonel Clyde East recognized at a young age that opportunity doesn't always come knocking.  So he quit waiting, and went out to find it.  The result was achievement of all of his boyhood dreams, climbing out of poverty, making a success of his life, and, most of all, becoming a fighter pilot.  In this role, he proved his exceptional fighting qualities so successfully that he earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for his incredible number of combat medals. He then proceeded to raise  a family, work as a consultant for the prestigious RAND Corporation, and serve as a valued member of the staff at the Ronald Reagan Library, receiving a special letter of thanks from Mrs. Reagan.  His desire for public service didn't stop there, though.  Now in his nineties, this highly decorated war hero is still an active community volunteer.  And, he still considers himself The Luckiest Man Alive.  Join us, at the Western Museum of Flight, and find out why.
