Sorry about the missing pics - here they are.

P-38 Lightning Event

Took these pictures yesterday at the Planes of Fame Museum. They had TWO P-38's on display AND flying. Five P-38 Veterans were also on hand to recount their wartime exploits. Unfortunately, it was a little hazy so the flying shots aren't that great  :(

Planes of Fame museum is going crazy right now getting ready for the air show in May. Yak 3 and Hellcat getting ready for a repaint, N9M waiting for the engines to be refitted...I'll post updates later. Check the website for show schedule...www.planesoffame.org

Planes Of Fame's Argus As 109-014 Pulse Jet engine flames after shutting down from a test run.


Close view of the shutters of the Argus Pulse Jet - behind which fuel is ignited. As the gases expand the shutters close and thrust is ejected through the rear tube (this happens approx 50 times per second) giving the motor it's distinctive sound.
