The aircraft tow vehicle was brought to Gate G-14 on sunday Sept 7, 2008 to move the NWA Airbus Industre A-319 aircraft to a maintenance hanger to have a part in the ruddar
replaced. I was delayed about 2 hours ariving in Souix Falls South Dakota. I had to wait for another A-319 to arrive from John Wayne airport. The Aircraft in pic 5 was used to fly to Souix Falls.
THE aircraft in pic5 returned to MSP and ended its flying day at Memphis Tennessee.

Great shots.

People always get upset when they sit next to me on a commercial flight for that very reason. But it is so much fun to take pix on the way to your destination ::)

I don't recall upseting anyone, though I don't care if I did or not. AS I have stated I spent 21 years in my U.S. Naval career working military aircraft, I like to watch the movement of the flight controls, listen to the sounds of the engines and listen for the sounds of the landing gear going up and down, and any other aircraft noise. The Airbus Industre A320 and A319 aircraft have a Hydraulic Drive Unit (HDU) under the main deck floor that comes on and makes noise for a few seconds after both engines are shut down. THe HDU, in the A320 series aircraft, provides a means of hydraulic pressure to the opposite side of the aircraft in case one engine is shut down in flight. It is a bit of redundency built in.

I passed throught MSP on 07/16 too som shots of the airliners passing be on runway 12L/30R. also got some shote of the Minnesota ANG C-130's, THe 934th and the 133rd. Weather was only 68Degrees at 1PM  and a stiff NW wing 25-30Mph with gusts to 40. My flight NW182( delta182) landed on Runway 35. Laater flight NW1071 (a  DC-9-30) was really moving around on final to Sioux Falls airport as the aircraft was buffeted around  the last 200 ft of altitude. the captain got a hold of it and brought the DC-9 in just fine.

I'll post the pics when I get back to San Diego august 6th.

Josh/Damon please move this thread to the airports page.

As soon as I saw MSP I knew it was going to be Northwest.  ;D

My first cross country trip as a young adult was on Northwest. During my connections I got to sample it all... From Ontario to MSP A320-232, From MSP to Memphis 757-200, from Memphis to Paducah, KY Saab 340.

Then on the way home, Paducah to Memphis Saab 340. Memphis to KCMO DC-9-50. KCMO to MSP DC-9-50. MSP to Ontario A320-232.

:D That was a ton of connections.  :o

Northwest Airlines is slowly dying and the aircraft are all being repainted in Delta paint schemes and all the flight numbers are Delta numbers.

Sad to see a great airline (Northwest) going away like Western Air Lines did in 1978. Western was also swallowed up by Delta.

Here are some arial views of Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport. Looking North or Northeast. I lightened the pics  bit because the weather was real cloudy and dark for 330 in the afternoon. I was flying in a NWA DC-9-30 in seat 05B forward of the wings. Seat 05A was vacant.
